A note from the GM.

Welcome to my world.

I’m a 31 year old male. Been a master for half my life and have had the pleasure of this team for some months now. Before this we played DND. (3.0)
It’s like this: NO ONE plays SLA with me before they are 18. I use graphic violence, drugs and bumping uglies. I keep nothing back and expect everyone to do the same. This is ugly when it’s the best. Nothing like 12.7 and UV to keep you going. That was the fun part.

2 things rule my game. Rules for keeping “you” sane and me breaking rules for keeping you unbalanced. Stories are written in reverse. Meaning: It has already happened. You are playing a situation that already has played out! More? Ok. There would not be a story about a team like the one you are reading about if not something extraordinary happens. That said. It’s always about “them.” Often it feels like they are someone who is looking at it all happening before them. In the end when all the treads are strung and all the plots have been solved. The masterpiece comes to its fulfilment and the players role is revealed. There is my game. If every one thought that it would be a walk in the park… Well who would bother? I keep ‘em running and screaming as much as possible. I’m not saying that I’m some kind of a brilliant master or that I know what I’m doing. I’m too lazy for that. I AM SAYING: “I try.”

I’m forgetting something… Oh… my name… sorry. I always forget that one. I’m Hans. My online handle (at the moment) is truefear. (Go figure) you can call me whatever you find fitting for this place.

Now that Fuzzy has taken my “mittens” off, I will try to answer some of your questions. Do not ask about spoilers. I will not ruin the game for the players (who will be reading this… lol). I will not write you (e-mail or otherwise). This is fuzzies Blog and I’m only here as a guest.

Last: Love your interest in AAA adventures. I'll look into your questions after this is posted.

Questions... so many questions... So little time.
I could ask about your GMing style, but you answered that :)
It's nice to see someone else who does use the ugly stick on their players (every session?),and not feel guilty about it.. Ok, sometimes I do but hey that is all about style of gaming.
What I would ask is this:You keep beating the beast with a large stick, how long before it bites you back?
My first lot took 2 years (evil grin).. This current bunch are mixed in their reactions so far, but bite they will.
Are you ever concerned that at some point they'll tell you to stick it somewhere interesting?lol
Though I'd have to say they seem to be a bunch of sado-masochists :)
Nice to hear your point of view Hans, I will watch for more rants from you soon :)

Thanks for your comments-

I don’t see players and master as two different things… Its not ”them” against me. We are working for the same goal. (having fun) That my players like it “hard and ruff!” That you may talk to them about ;-)
The role as master is one of 3. person. I don’t put my own personal stuff in it. Its all about the need of the players. Smith said it so well(Matrix) when he spoke of humans need for harsh reality. When its too easy the humans(players) disbelieve the world. Hope I got it right… (understandable)

Hmmm must be the "soft" British players I have then :)
Though personal GM style and knowing your players well, makes a huge differemce.
I've always prefered gritty and nasty, but I then feel guilty for depriving them of money/weapons/limbs/lives.. etc etc... Maybe it's me thats too "soft". :p
My original post was not intended as a criticism.. Honest :o Just me playing Devils Advocate :)

Crap...so that means no info on Blue in my mailbox.

Interesting strategy you use (playing things that already happend), guess that's why the stories are so messed up with this mental institute thing. :)

Love to have you as a GM for once, my GM just isn't sick enough to touch the hardcore subjects (have to admit I can't do it either as a GM, but I keep trying).

I'll just keep monitoring this blog for the rest of my life and learn. :)
