We f***** up!!! part 4
As I stared in disbelief on our stormer the rest of the team was packing up and ready to leave. Blue looked at me with a strangely familiar look in his eyes and then he fell to his knee. I grabbed his arm and Jack took his other arm and while running i poured 2 or 3 proteine drinks in him - what the heck was going on? I'm absolutely sure he was hit by at least 3 bullets (12.7) from the minigun before hitting the water - the spear had taken most of his chest - and he had been hit under water too. My brain was working overtime but the UV in my blood made it impossible to think straigth. Blue grinned at me and pulled his arms out of my grip and then he ran after the rest. Jack and I looked at each other and then we decided it was better not to say anything. I guess prototype stormers are different from the rest?
We decided to get above ground again - actually we had no choice - but it sounds better when I'm saying it like this.
Sarin was front as usual and as he climbed up a narrow ladder he was hit - again! Another ambush - are SLA operatives that predictable? We decide that Blue climbs out first and then Sarin. Sarins skills as a scout is a hell of alot better than Blues but Blue is obviously impervious to hurt.
The rest of us wait with anticipation but in a couple of seconds they both come tumbling down the ladder - Sarin shot again. They both agree that there's something wrong with the way Sarin was shot but obviously we have to get moving and if we all scatter when we get above ground there's a bigger chance we won't all be shot. Right now we're guessing that the dude in the Silverback must be the one we're looking for so we have to just move our asses and hope for a little bit of luck as he is much more mobile than we are!
We throw ourself out of the sewer and run for nearest cover. I throw my self down next to Jack and spot movement on a roof nearby. Just as I turn to tell him bullets rip through that wall Blue was just standing next to and he dives for cover.
We just realise that it must be automatic weapons systems, sentury guns or something - as if we have a chance against that? We agreed to run for one of the demolished buildings to get better cover and maybe take out a gun or two.
We sprinted through rubble with bullets flying around us and as we reached the building Sarin took over again. he soon discovered at neatly set up trap with 2 sentury guns and with some beautiful circus shooting he took out both, making it possible for us to move this way through!
As we moved through the building - Sarin still in front and me right behind our stresslevels got another notch into the red area. The sniper guy had set up several sentury guns all of them with backup guns making it pretty hard to take them out.
As we stepped into a room we were attacked by a wraith raider. He had been standing against the wall waiting for all of us to get into the room - well he hadn't counted on my keen senses - hehe! I hit him with my Gash fist smack on the nose making him curse and gag but retaliate with a very accurate hit to my eye. Luckily I managed to turn my head enough to avoid him puncturing my eye :(
He jump ran past the rest of the team and sprinted down the narrow halls, Blue and Sarin on his tail... Jack and I looked at eachother - darn short legs! We hid behind a bend waiting for the others to catch the sneaky kitty. As we stood there we heard the sound of nasty... We just knew we were in trouble - none of the others would make it back in time and they were probably already too far away to hear normal fighting. Jack stepped out in front of the person coming around the corner and I tumbled to get around him - something I soon regretted. Our opponent (Mr Circle) was wearing an armor resembling the Dogeybone - slightly smaller but still rather intimidating in his hands were a huge scythe - practically too big to make any real good moves but large enough to make it almost impossible to geet past him. Jack pulled out his gun and fired two shots right in the chest of mr. scythe - it had an effect but the scythe cut some nasty holes in Jacks armor - I managed to get past the scythe and tried to jump the guys back pinning his arms and making it easier on Jack. He was extremely strong and I could hear the sound of Jack getting sliced (Mr Scythe apparently didn't care about the "not in the head - rule") but I could also hear scythe-guy getting seriously hurt by Jacks bullets. Finally I got a handhold on the guy and I pinned his arms to his side. Jack got a clear shot and took it - the guy spasmed and I rolled of him away from the scythe as he fell to the floor - Go Jack!
Blue and Sarin came back grinning - they'd really kicked the Wraith Raider (square) around. Blue had even thrown Sarin at a point making our kitty a tad annoyed - but he'd gotten his prey and made a nice example out of him - Square would probably need an entire new face after this.
4 down - 2 to go...
